P5/6 VIKINGS TRIP TO THE NAVAN CENTRE
13th Apr 2026
What an incredible day our P5/6s had on their trip to the Navan Centre as part of our topic on The Vikings!
They enjoyed listening to fascinating facts about who the Vikings were and how they lived. They even had the chance to create their own Viking bookmark, writing their names in runes just like the Vikings would have done!
Next came a step back into the world of the monks—using a quill and ink to write, discovering how manuscripts were created long before modern pens and pencils.
The highlight of the day was meeting a real-life Viking! The children were amazed as he showed them some of his armour and weapons and explained how they would have been used in battle.
A fantastic, hands-on learning experience that has truly brought our Viking topic to life!
