As part of Money Week, our class took part in a fantastic interactive online lesson with Young Enterprise called “A Trip to the City.”
The children had a brilliant time getting involved in a range of quizzes, anagrams and live polls, which kept everyone engaged and thinking carefully about their choices.
Their main challenge was to plan a class trip to the city with a budget of £300. The children worked hard to decide how to spend their money wisely, considering:
- Transport
- Food
- Activities
They explored different price options and had to make thoughtful decisions to ensure they stayed within budget. If they managed their finances well, they even had the chance to choose some added extras!
This activity sparked lots of lively debate and discussion, with pupils justifying their choices and learning to compromise as a team. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and teamwork.
The session helped the children develop a strong understanding of saving, budgeting, and the important lesson that a need comes before a want. A fun and valuable experience for all — well done everyone!
