P5/6 JAPAN TOPIC
This term, Primary 5/6 have been exploring our WAU topic of Japan. We have been learning some basic Japanese, including colours, numbers and simple greetings.
We discovered the cultural importance of cherry blossom trees (Sakura), which inspired our beautiful Haiku poems and our artwork of cherry blossom trees. We also had the opportunity to go outside and investigate our very own cherry blossom tree in school, bringing our learning to life! As part of our topic, pupils carried out their own research on Japan, creating and presenting informative posters to the class, developing both their knowledge and presentation skills.
Today, we investigated the climate in Japan, using the Japan Meteorological Agency to explore weather conditions in different cities. Pupils then confidently delivered their own weather reports to the class!
Well done to everyone for their enthusiasm and fantastic effort throughout this topic
