MENTAL HEALTH WEEK
18th Feb 2026
We celebrated Children’s Mental Health Week, following the national theme “This Is My Place,” which focuses on helping children feel a sense of belonging. The children enjoyed choosing to wear either their uniform or PE kit, helping them feel comfortable in their school environment.
All children decorated a heart and took it home to give to someone special, linking to the “Take 5” wellbeing steps. P1, P2 and P3 worked with older pupils to decorate this heart. The children also took a photo of their favourite place, helping them think about where they feel happy and safe—an important part of the week’s theme. We also shared the story Ruby’s Worry, reminding children that we need to share our worries with a trusted adult.
It was a lovely week that helped the children recognise the places and people that make them feel they belong.
