MAD SCIENTIST - P6/7
18th Jun 2026
Our P6/7 class had a fantastic time taking part in Mad Scientist Day!
The pupils learned all about William Clanny, the inventor from County Down who created the first practical safety lamp for miners, helping to improve safety underground.
They then became scientists themselves as they carried out an exciting experiment exploring the science behind fire. The children thoroughly enjoyed investigating, asking questions and discovering how science helps us to better understand the world around us.
It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm, curiosity and teamwork throughout the day.
A brilliant hands-on learning experience that brought science and local history to life!Clare Primary School, 58 Cloghoge Rd, Tandragee, Craigavon, County Armagh, BT62 2HB | Tel: 028 3884 0843
