MAD SCIENTIST - P3
P3 had lots of fun investigating the work of Sir Hans Sloane, a scientist from Northern Ireland who lived in the 1600s. He is renowned for developing cocoa powder into the hot chocolate we know and love today.
We explored the concept of dissolving by investigating whether certain substances dissolve in water. To ensure our investigation was fair, we used the same amount of water and equal quantities of salt, sugar, flour, pepper, herbs, and chocolate powder.
We really enjoyed making predictions and then testing them. We also applied our learning when we made chocolate milkshakes, and we can confidently confirm that the chocolate powder did dissolve.
