Primary One had an exciting Mad Scientist Day as they learned about the scientist John Dunlop, who discovered the special properties of rubber. He found that rubber is waterproof, durable, elastic, and provides a good grip—making it perfect for creating pneumatic tyres!
The children then became scientists themselves, exploring a range of different materials to find out which would be most suitable for making an umbrella for Teddy. There was lots of experimenting, testing, and curious thinking throughout the day. What a fantastic way to learn through science!
